Allergology & environmental medicine

In our specialisation in allergology and environmental medicine, we clarify possible allergies:

• Contact allergy
• Inhalation allergy (pollen, house dust, mould, etc.)
• Food allergy (incl. WDEIA and alpha-gal syndrome)
• Aspirin or Acetyl Salicylic Acid desensitisation
• Clarification of perioperative anaphylaxis
• Molecular allergy diagnostics
• Avoidance testing X-ray contrast agent allergy
• Drug allergy (e.g. antibiotics or local anaesthetics)
• Insect venom allergies (wasp, bee)

Diagnostics

Contact allergy: The clarification is carried out by means of epicutaneous tests, among other things. We apply the contact allergens to be tested to the patient's back using test patches and check the skin reaction after several days.

Inhalation allergy: We use prick or intradermal tests for diagnostics. The allergen is injected under the skin surface with a thin needle and a corresponding skin reaction is tested.

Based on the individual findings, we will provide you with comprehensive advice and, if necessary, admit you as an inpatient to carry out further provocation tests or initiate hyposensitisation treatment.
