Program Features:

• Successful applicants invited to engage in a 6-8 month basic research thesis project, including monthly stipend
• Student assigned both a basic scientist and surgeon mentor during the program
• For some projects, the research project will include in-part working in a research lab abroad
• After thesis completion, will support and encourage continued research involvement and surgical mentoring until finishing medical studies ("interim period")
• After "interim period", those completing the program will receive preferred application status into our surgical resident training program
