Emergency care

The interdisciplinary emergency department of the Regensburg University Hospital is open for medical emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The doctor on duty from oral and maxillofacial surgery is called upon in the event of corresponding symptoms.

In urgent cases, the OMS surgeon on duty can also be reached via the reception at the main entrance +49 (0)941 944-0. The receptionist will then connect you to a member of our staff.

In case of pain in the mouth, jaw or face area, or if there are postoperative complications, patients can also go to the dental emergency service. This on-call outpatient department is also open 24 hours a day for dental emergencies. If necessary, the OMS surgeon on duty is consulted. Registration for this takes place at the reception at the main entrance.

Please understand that the patients in both emergency department areas are treated in the order of severity of illness first and only then in the order of their arrival. Because we also arrange examinations in cases of urgent need, which can take several days to carry out in routine operations, waiting times are possible.
