Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Internal radiology department
Dental and OMS-specific images are made primarily in our attached radiology department. State-of-the-art X-ray machines are available here, which use digital recording technologies that reduce the radiation exposure for patients to a minimum.
Digital volume tomography (DVT) enables high-resolution imaging of complex pathologies in the head/facial region. By means of three-dimensional reconstruction, an optimal preoperative representation of anatomical conditions is possible.
Our X-ray department can take special images such as orthopantomograms (OPG, two-dimensional X-rays of the upper and lower jaw in the form of a semicircle from one ear to the other) and dental films (DF). However, we mainly take conventional X-rays of the head and neck region (such as Clementschitsch, Henkeltopf and teleradiographic images, X-rays of the paranasal sinuses and jaw joints, etc.).
Should further diagnostics by means of computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), angiography, etc. appear to be necessary, these examinations are carried out in the Institute for Diagnostic Radiology of the main hospital.
