Research and teaching
StATUR
StATUR is the student education and training centre at the University of Regensburg
StATUR’s educational programmes were created as opportunities for students of medicine and dentistry at the University of Regensburg to gain additional training and are under continuous development. The learning activities offered serve to enhance and consolidate the content in the compulsory curriculum programme.
Students gain the opportunity to learn and routinely practice the practical skills used in day-to-day hospital work – such as physical examinations and patient consultations. Dummies and simulators are available for medical exams, while consultations may involve specially trained actors (‘standard patients’), who let students practice taking medical histories and can give constructive feedback. Students also have the opportunity to become familiar with new learning strategies such as problem-oriented learning (POL). Self-study of practical skills is also possible at any time.
Students are provided with support both from medical teaching staff at Regensburg University Hospital as well as student tutors with specialist training. We aim to provide students with a thorough grounding for their medical training, while also encouraging them to apply their knowledge, skills and creativity to both their own education and that of their fellow students.
