As a maximum care provider, the University Hospital Regensburg ensures medical and nursing care at the highest level. Upon request, this can be supplemented by medical optional services (chief physician treatment). During your entire inpatient stay, the main services are primarily led by the elective physician or the respective deputy. Our elective physicians are distinguished by special qualifications and experience in their medical field and offer you individually tailored treatment and personal care.
All elective physicians and their respective deputies can be found in the agreement on optional medical services.
If you wish to have a specific elective physician who is not listed, you have the option to arrange for treatment with any of our employed doctors by submitting a written request. Please contact the relevant department's secretariat for this. If you wish to make use of optional medical services, please let us know when you are admitted as an inpatient.
Please note: The billing for private medical services will be done directly with you according to the fee schedule for doctors and dentists (GOÄ/GOZ). Unfortunately, direct billing via your private or supplementary insurance is not possible. Please clarify with your private health insurance, government aid, or supplemental insurance beforehand the extent of coverage or reimbursement for private medical services, as not all insurance policies automatically cover these services.
