Aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery
Ear correction (otoplasty)
We specialise in otoplasty (ear correction) for protruding ears in children and adults. Auricular corrections are performed very frequently, especially in children, usually from the age of six.
Correction of the auricle and earlobe
Various techniques are used to improve the shape of the ear, which must be carefully selected and combined in order to achieve the best possible result for each individual patient. Our experienced surgeons can bend the cartilage of the auricle through fine scoring or shape it into the desired form using suturing techniques. They can also move the earlobe into the desired position using various techniques. As a rule, the relatively short incision is hidden in the fold behind the ear and the resulting scar is barely visible.
Fit for sport again after just a few weeks
We protect the newly moulded ear with a bandage, which we usually only apply for a few days. We then recommend wearing a headband: first during the day and at night, then only at night. You should wear a headband for a longer period of time when exercising. You can usually resume sporting activities such as cycling or swimming after two to three weeks. You should avoid activities that expose the ear to mechanical stress for longer periods of time.
The cosmetic correction of protruding ears is an optional private medical service.
