Eyelid lifting (blepharoplasty)

Our surgeons have the highest level of expertise in eyelid lifting (blepharoplasty). It provides a remedy when drooping eyelids impair the field of vision.   

Age-related changes in the eyelids can already be recognised in early adulthood. The skin of the eyelids loses elasticity and the resulting excess skin causes wrinkles, so-called drooping eyelids. 

Surgery for drooping eyelids

The surgery can be performed under local anaesthetic; a general anaesthetic is only necessary if our surgeons combine other procedures with the eyelid lift. In the area of the upper eyelid, the incision is made in the eyelid crease. Depending on the condition of the upper eyelid, the surgeons also remove excess fat through this incision. We can usually discharge patients home on the same day.

Medically justified or cosmetic

In cases where the skin of the upper eyelids impairs the field of vision, an eyelid lift is a medically indicated standard procedure. Cosmetic eyelid correction to rejuvenate the external appearance is an optional private medical service.
